Derby Axle Troubleshooting
Axle holes / slot too big?
- Add a few drops of water to bare wood. It will swell and cause the hole /slot to become smaller.
Did you chip you slot?
- If this happens to be at your axle location, it will probably be necessary to re-drill / cut your axle slots if time allows. I would fill any holes with sawdust and glue paste. Using the small toothpicks is also another great option for filling these holes. Be sure to thoroughly fill the hole or axle to ensure that you have a solid surface to drill back into. Once dried, I would then drill / machine both sides to ensure proper axle alignment.
