Derby Dust Pinewood Weight Drill Guide - BSA

Using our Pinewood Weight Drill Guide,  you can drill virtually all 3/8" weight hole designs.  The Derby Dust techs designed the guide so no additional measuring or mathematics is required to figure out proper spacing for a balanced car. We have taken all those steps, mashed it into a single product that will save you time and accurately drill correctly the first time out.  Designed specifically for BSA distances.  Holes are centered and space properly for nearly all basic designs.  Use tungsten cylinders, lead, or steel weights to complete your car design.

Smart Upgrades

Our drill guide is made with highly quality "green" PLA, durable enough to use more than once and environmentally friendly. Designed just slightly over sized from the 1.75" in block, we have not found a block yet that will not fit snugly into it.  We know this is a common problem with all drill guides.  So we made sure it will not be a problem with our design. Upgrade includes a brass drill guide to be used for season after season with precise drilling without damaging the plastic.  Compared to the Chinese counterpart.  Our Drill guide has SO many MORE options than it, too! Drill holes are oversize 1/32″ of an inch to ensure no binding with manufacturing differences in jobber bits, and plastic cooling during printing.   Used without the brass drill guide, you can use a 25/64" bit as some tungsten manufacturers suggest. For those rules that require to see the points of drilled axle holes to ensure racing within the legal rules, our drill guide thought of this too.  Drill the 1/4" pilot holes to show the exposed diamond tip. Rear holes clear the BSA slots or traditional spacing so that the weights will always be above the axle line.  This guide will not work with the Pinecar Tungsten CoG Weights™ unless the holes are reamed an additional 1/64" larger.

Important Addition for Rear Hole Drillers

After reading another drill guide's feedback off Amazon, we came up with a solution to address their problems.  We designed a Brass Drill guide attachment that gives the drill bit the support it needs to drill an entire 5" straight pocket for those drilling the back holes.  Drill long STRAIGHT holes because of the extra guided length.  Also make your block last virtually forever never damaging your pilot holes.

Pinewood Drill Guide:

• 3x 3/8″ holes from the rear which will are raised enough to go over axle slots and drilled axles
• 3x 3/8″ holes from the side
• 9x 3/8″ hole pattern for the bottom
• 4x 1/4″ peep holes for those packs that require the visualization of BSA axle tips.  Also a great way to glue your axles down after tuning.
