Pinewood Derby Ladder Car Body – Flathead is cnc laser cut BSA car body.  Design to be fast with a low profile design utilizing  pinewood derby 1⁄4″ tungsten cubes or tungsten block ballasts.  Customize car to your liking or race as is!   1/4″ thick with veneer trunk top.  Designed be light and structurally.  Pinewood Derby Ladder Car Body – Flathead body comes in under 20 grams,  weighing in at 18 grams with veneer top. Infinite adjustable cog. Lots of push. Race it on a smooth track.   have done the major steps for you! You will still need at least 107 grams of weight to bring the car to proper weight even more with pinewood derby weight reduced wheels.

Take note, there is no messing around with this Pinewood Derby Ladder Car Body – Flathead. Know what you are doing, use sharp bits, drill and build slow. If an axle is tight, run the provided bit through it again.  This body does not come with wheels or axles.  Due to its thickness, we highly suggest using a bent axle instead of trying to drill a high wheel as it will be too close to the top of the wood.

Ultra Light bodies are designed with minimum wood weight in mind. Since we remove a lot of the strength structure of the wood block, handle these bodies with care.  NO HAMMERING ever.  Because of this a #44 drill bit provided with each body to ensure easy proper axle install.  Race only on a smooth track!  RAIL RIDER SETUP highly suggested.

Take note, these Pinewood Derby Ladder Car Body – Flathead are not at weight.  Please properly plan for this.  Comes in around 18 grams so you will need about 107 grams of additional weight.  We offer tungsten kits and various lead toppers to customize to your liking, but it is highly suggested to use tungsten cubes or solid ballast. Design is based on the 7 principles of having a fast pinewood derby car.  This body covers the low profile, lightweight, aerodynamic design.  COG is infinitely adjustable.
