Derby Dust® Axles

Computer Numeric Controlled (CNC) machines prepare our Pinewood Derby Fast Winning Speed Axle Wheel Combo Set axle line with minimal surface removal. 

Thereby, ensuring consistent diameters along the entire length of the shaft.  

Derby Dust® reduces friction through precision polishing. We always use tapered axle heads to reduce surface friction. They are always wet sanded and diamond polished. No cheating with polished waxes that could easily become brittle and break off.

This is a bona-fide metal polish job. We meticulously polish each and every one of them.

Derby Dust® Wheels

These are Official BSA wheels that have been trued and balanced. Plus, by using our aftermarket speed wheels you will save tons of time and get a much faster car in the process.

Derby Dust ® Lightly Machined Wheels

• OD: 1.174″ Bead/Tread present
• AWW: 2.46 grams
• Outer Hub: Factory
• Wheel Width: Factory 0.360″
• Inner Wheel Hub: Factory
• Hub Bore Diameter: Reamed to 0.0960″

This wheel has had the outer diameter reduced by .006″.  

It will have a bead/tread present.  

The inner bore has been reamed to remove any manufacturing flaws and meets most pack requirements.  

However, it will not meet the 1.180″ outer diameter requirement.  

BSA lettering will be intact.
