Pinewood Derby Body Ultra Lite Canopy Car – The Ghost is our redesign of a popular free design on the www.  Designed be light and structurally sound.    CNC laser cut for beautiful crisp lines that will need very little sanding.  This design requires a canopy style weight as it does not have any weight pockets for addition of weight.   This body style will only work with HEAVY canopy weights. You will need a minimum of 3.5 of canopy weight. 3.8-3.9 is probably the desired overall added weight to the body.

Weight in at 17 grams, Pinewood Derby Body Ultra Lite Canopy Car – The Ghost is cut with minimum wood weight in mind.   Utilizing the principles of low body weight, minimum height, low aerodynamic drag,  know this body is design for the win.  We use simple, proven designs that will get you in the winner’s circle.  Since we remove a lot of the strength structure of the wood block, handle these bodies with care.  NO HAMMERING ever.  Because of this a #44 drill bit provided with each body to ensure easy proper axle install.  Due to its thickness, we highly suggest using a bent axle instead of trying to drill a high wheel as it will be too close to the top of the wood.

Made from an official BSA block, know this car is always compliant with national (in the box) rules.  HOWEVER , the rules of local events sometimes differ from those of BSA box rules. It is necessary to know your rules before choosing our extended wheelbase for your PWD car.   If you are unsure about the terminology, just email us, we will get you what you need.
